Abstract
Cystic masses of the spleen are rare and identification of their origin is critical to proper management. They are thought to originate from an abnormality in the development of the spleen. Presenting symptoms are frequently due to compressive
effects
of the mass or due to infection. Cystic splenic masses are most commonly secondary and have no internal cellular lining. And they are usually related to prior splenic injury. Primary splenic cysts are very rare and have an epidermal lining.
Computed
abdominal tomography outlines the anatomy and character of cystic masses of the spleen. Cysts locallzed to a single pole can be treated by partial splenectomy.
Authors had experienced a case of huge splenic true cyst who was treated by splenectomy without any complications. So this case is presented with a brief review of the literature.
